Dr. Elai Rettig is the Israel Institute Teaching Fellow at the Department of Jewish, Islamic, and Middle Eastern Studies and at the Environmental Studies Program at Washington University in St Louis. He is also a Senior Researcher at the Maritime Policy and Strategy Research Center (HMS) in Israel.
Dr. Elai was a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for Security and Conflict Studies (ISCS) at George Washington University and a Neubauer fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) at Tel Aviv University. His research focuses on patterns of conflict and cooperation over shared energy resources and environmental threats.
