Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, has stated that the establishment of the National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) is a culmination of the UAE efforts over the years to promote the highest international standards of human rights in various fields. He noted that this step would enhance the position of the UAE regionally and internationally and strengthen its active role in protecting human rights globally.
Dr. Al-Ali said that the decision to establish NHRI reflects the UAE’s commitment to developing a supportive legal framework for human rights in the country, and the leadership’s commitment to human happiness as a top priority. He added that since the foundation of the UAE, it has always paid attention to human rights; the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, was keen on promoting human values and ensuring that everybody felts valued and happy. He believed that we are all brothers, and everyone has the right to live with dignity.
Dr. Al-Ali explained that the law establishing the National Human Rights Institution confirms that the UAE leadership is seeking to ensure that everyone lives in an environment that is based on love, brotherhood, coexistence and dialogue with the other. He noted that since its establishment, TRENDS has been spreading knowledge and highlighting the UAE’s human rights approach and achievements, as it hosts people of different races, religions and over 200 nationalities. Such policies reflect the position of the UAE among leading countries that believe in the need to find effective ways to protect human rights.
Dr. Al-Ali concluded his statement by congratulating citizens and residents of the UAE for living in this land of love and peace that is led by such wise leadership.
