TRENDS Research and Advisory and the National Center for Studies in Egypt signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance their cooperation in research, hold joint research events and symposiums, and mutually benefit from each other’s databases, information and research.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, and Major General Ahmed Al-Shihabi, President of the National Center for Studies, in the presence of Hany Alaasar, Managing Director of the National Center for Studies, and Dr. Fatouh Haikal, Head of Research Sector at TRENDS, and Mr. Sultan Majed, Deputy Head of Research Sector at TRENDS.

The MoU stipulates cooperation between the two sides in conducting research on topics of common interest and exchanging experts and researchers to benefit from their experiences. Cooperation also includes the exchange of publications, books and research papers on topics that promote tolerance, peaceful coexistence and harmonious communication among peoples, in addition to the joint organization of events, symposiums and activities of common interest.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali praised the National Center for Studies, a prestigious center in the field of research and knowledge content production, saying that TRENDS Research and Advisory is delighted to cooperate with the Center as their common visions would help disseminate knowledge and build a future that is based on the principles of tolerance, human fraternity, and rejection of extremism and hate. He added that this MoU stems from TRENDS’ keenness on enhancing research partnerships with major think tanks in the region and the world at large.

Dr. Al-Ali stressed that TRENDS attaches great importance to coordination and cooperation with think tanks and academic institutions in its pursuit of becoming a bridge for knowledge and academic exchange both regionally and internationally, participating in the building of the future, and supporting decision-makers through the provision of effective solutions to the challenges they face.

Major General Ahmed Al-Shihabi, President of the National Center for Studies, expressed his content with the signing of the MoU with TRENDS, which he said is a renowned, globally oriented think tank. He praised the high quality of TRENDS’ publications and events, which deal with current regional and global developments.

Major General Al-Shihabi also lauded the active role TRENDS plays in supporting scientific research at both regional and global levels, and the conferences, symposiums and lectures it organizes, which promote the spread of scientific knowledge and support the research community worldwide.

He added that TRENDS has become a distinguished global research platform, and a destination for those seeking studies that predict future developments and contribute to the building of the future. He emphasized that cooperation between the National Center for Studies in Egypt and TRENDS will play a significant role in supporting the research community and boosting awareness about regional and global issues.

It is worth noting that the National Center for Studies is an independent think tank established in the Egyptian capital Cairo in 2020. The Center studies international issues with a focus on the Middle East and Africa, with the aim of providing services that would help policy makers take well-informed decisions based on reliable research data.
