Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, and Mr. Hamad Al-Kaabi, editor-in-chief of Al-Ittihad newspaper, announced that a joint symposium will be organized under the title “Promoting the Culture of Peace and Tolerance in the World: What We Need to Do” on Tuesday, September 21, at the Peace Hall in TRENDS offices in Rawdhat, Abu Dhabi. The symposium will feature the participation of a number of experts, intellectuals, politicians and men of religion from the UAE and several other countries.
This symposium will coincide with the International Day of Peace, which falls on September 21 each year and is celebrated by all countries and peoples of the world.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali said this symposium will discuss several topics that relate to spreading the culture of peace and tolerance and confronting destructive extremist ideas.
He added that the symposium participants will present their insights and recommendations for a world of peace, care and love that is free from conflict and disputes.
He stressed that cooperation between TRENDS and Al-Ittihad newspaper in organizing this symposium represents a continuation of the fruitful partnership between the two sides in spreading knowledge, raising awareness and promoting peace and tolerance. It also highlights the importance of joint work to spread knowledge and promote respect and inclusiveness.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Ali also noted that TRENDS Research and Advisory believes that balanced scholarly research is the path to spreading knowledge and the culture of peace and tolerance. He highlighted the importance of cooperation and integration between research and media institutions in working for a world in which people enjoy security, stability, prosperity and happiness.
He said that the UAE leadership and people consider peace and tolerance to be two pillars for development and progress; this culture has been established through many creative initiatives that made this approach a way of life.
Dr. Al-Ali pointed out that spreading the value of peace is a goal that is shared by all countries, and it is the only way for nations to rise and achieve stability and prosperity. He explained that the peace agreements signed between Israel and the Arab countries signal a new phase of prosperity and constructive cooperation in this region.
Mr. Hamad Al-Kaabi, editor-in-chief of Al-Ittihad newspaper, said that his newspaper’s cooperation with TRENDS Research and Advisory in organizing their joint symposium highlights the role played by TRENDS and Al-Ittihad newspaper in promoting peace and tolerance. He stressed that peace, tolerance and coexistence are rooted in the culture of the UAE and have been essential pillars of the UAE's realistic political approach, philosophy and vision since its foundation. This explains why it has become a country of human brotherhood, dialogue, love and moderation.
The editor-in-chief of Al-Ittihad newspaper said that the International Day of Peace, which coincides with the symposium, is a noble occasion which gives hope for a better world that enjoys stability, development, coexistence and cooperation to achieve prosperity and the sustainable development of nations.
