TRENDS Research and Advisory announced the names of the winners of the ‘Read and Win with TRENDS’ contest, which was launched on the occasion of the Month of Reading. The UAE celebrates reading in March of every year by encouraging various institutions and entities to launch initiatives that contribute to building a reading society. TRENDS’ initiative aims to encourage the culture of reading and dissemination of knowledge, with a view to inspiring community members to make reading a daily life habit.
The idea of the contest was to encourage community members to share their opinions about TRENDS’ publications through social media platforms, such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. The names of the winners of the contest were selected randomly, with three winners from each of the three social media platforms. Prizes were presented to the nine winners, in addition to certificates of appreciation from TRENDS Research and Advisory.
On this occasion, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, explained that there was a great response to the contest from various segments of the community. It achieved its goal of raising the community awareness about the importance of reading as a life habit that helps build a knowledge-based society.
He added that TRENDS Research and Advisory gives top priority to the promotion of reading, and supports every activity and initiative that aims to achieve this goal, which TRENDS has demonstrated through its participation in national and international book fairs and other events. Last November, TRENDS participated in the Sharjah International Book Fair and showcased its publications, offering them at competitive prices in order to encourage people to read. It also organized a virtual book fair last February, in which many regional and international publishing houses and research centers participated, and offered 25 percent discount on the latest publications so as to encourage reading among members of the community.
