The TRENDS Council for Young Researchers initiative aims to establish a platform for young researchers – particularly Emiratis – to express their views on developing research skills.

ABU DHABI, April 19 – TRENDS Research & Advisory has launched the TRENDS Council for Young Researchers initiative to engage young researchers in community service further and voice their ideas to serve the think-tank’s research and advisory activities. The initiative also seeks to enhance their participation in serving the community.

The Council consists of young researchers at TRENDS Research & Advisory who are under the age of 30. It aims to establish a platform for young researchers – particularly Emiratis – to express their views on how to develop their research skills and exchange ideas about the latest developments, issues, and events of interest and how youth can contribute to addressing them.

TRENDS Council for Young Researchers seeks to provide recommendations, ideas, and initiatives that would help enhance young researchers’ capabilities and skills; and the necessary training that would enable them to play their role in serving the goals of TRENDS and the community.

The Council communicates with youth organizations in and outside the UAE to develop constructive relationships with young researchers to empower young people and strengthen their capabilities.

It participates in youth events and represents TRENDS Research & Advisory. It also seeks to encourage young researchers to prepare research papers and publish them in local, regional, and specialized international periodicals.

On this occasion, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, said that the initiative symbolizes TRENDS’ belief in young people as future leaders and the engine of progress and advancement of any society. Dr. Al-Ali explained that one of the main goals TRENDS sets out to achieve is to empower young people and enhance their research capabilities to have well-qualified young researchers.

He said that the TRENDS Council for Young Researchers initiative is part of TRENDS Plan 2021, including the objectives, preparation, training, and empowerment of young researchers. The initiative is meant to deepen their insight and equip them with research and administrative skills, enabling them to best play their role and build solid research expertise with strategic analysis and future prediction skills.
