Out of its Keenness to be Present at the Arab and Global Levels and Take Part in Making the Future

TRENDS Research and Advisory Participates in the Riyadh International Book Fair

TRENDS Research and Advisory will participate in the next edition of the Riyadh International Book Fair in 2021, which will be held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on October 1st, 2021, and will take place over 10 days at “Riyadh Front”. TRENDS will present a distinguished set of scholarly publications that will include books and scientific series covering many political, economic and security fields and political Islam movements.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali said that TRENDS’ participation in the Riyadh International Book Fair reflects its keenness to actively participate in Arab and international cultural forums in line with its vision and new slogan “From Foreseeing to Participation in Building the Future” and commitment to participating in cultural activities that spread knowledge and promoting dialogue and rapprochement between peoples. This year’s Riyadh Book Fair hosts the most important publishing houses from different countries of the world, features a variety of activities, and represents 16 cultural sectors featuring leading thinkers, researchers and academics. In this way, the Book Fair offers an important knowledge window for the book industry and the publishing sector.

Al-Ali explained that the list of publications that will be included in the TRENDS Research and Advisory pavilion at the Book Fair is characterized by diversity and richness, and covers a range of issues of interest to the Arab and international community, such as political Islam, sustainable development, tolerance and coexistence, and shifts in the international system in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He pointed out that TRENDS’ various publications have become a reliable reference for researchers, scholars and academics in the region and the world because they adopt solid, internationally-recognized rules and standards that characterize scientific research. They also provide in-depth content that foresees the future and even contributes to its making.

He added that TRENDS’ participation in the Riyadh International Book Fair coincides with the center’s contribution to other similar events such as the Dubai Expo - which is the world’s most prominent event - and the Frankfurt International Book to the center’s commitment to attending important forums stems from its belief in the importance of culture and knowledge in spreading the values of goodness, tolerance and peace, and exposing deviant ideas.

TRENDS’ publications to be featured in the Riyadh International Book Fair include a distinguished series of the latest scholarly works, including: “Organizational Structure of Muslim Brotherhood: Features, Targets, Future” and “The Special Apparatus of the Muslim Brotherhood: Inception Objectives and Evolution”. These two books will be offered in Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Hebrew and Chinese editions. Other books include: “Economic Structure of the Muslim Brotherhood: Money, Business and Finance Networks”; “The European Union’s Role in the Post-Covid-19 World”; “The Post-Covid-19 World: Limits of Possible Change in the Global Order”, and a number of publications in English, in addition to the translated book “The Closed Circle: Joining and Leaving the Muslim Brotherhood in the West” by Lorenzo Vidino, Director of the Program on Extremism at George Washington University. The publications will also include a collection of books that monitor the shifts witnessed by the world in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
