With the Aim of Supporting Sound Scholarly Research and Spreading Enlightened Thinking Among the Youth

TRENDS Signs a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation with the UAE Journalists Association in the Fields of Research and Training

TRENDS Research and Advisory has signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation with the UAE Journalists Association aimed at strengthening links between the two sides in the fields of research, consultancy and training, as along with setting a general framework for cooperation and coordination in areas of common interest.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, on behalf of TRENDS, and Mr. Mohammed Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Journalists Association, on behalf of the UAE Journalists Association.

The signing of the agreement was attended by Hussein Al-Mannai, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Journalists Association, Fadila Al-Muaini, Secretary of the Association, Hassan Omran, Treasurer of the Association, Alya Al-Jneibi, Deputy Head of the Strategic Communication Department at TRENDS, and Reem Al-Kindi, a researcher at TRENDS.

A global media strategy

On this occasion, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, said that signing the memorandum with the UAE Journalists Association comes within the framework of TRENDS’ drive to build a global media strategy that enhances research, scholarly and qualitative media partnerships with government and private agencies, and research and intellectual institutions and centers at the local, regional and global levels.

Dr. Al-Ali emphasized that the agreement establishes and enhances cooperation and partnership between TRENDS and the UAE Journalists Association in the research and media fields of interest to both sides. It also comes as an affirmation of the special ties between the two institutions in their efforts to expand the knowledge base and benefit from the experiences they have accumulated in the fields of training and consultancy, joint seminars, events and training courses.

Organizing joint activities

Dr. Al-Ali stated that the agreement supports serious and sound scholarly research, expands its base and diversifies its sources. It also contributes to employing such research in the service of the community and in support of decision and policy makers based on scientific and methodological data. He added that the memorandum paves the way for both sides to organize joint scholarly and research activities, conferences, seminars, panel discussions, workshops and lectures.

The CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory also praised the role of the UAE Journalists Association in supporting young media professionals and developing their scholarly and knowledge tools, especially with regard to vital issues such as strengthening national belonging, maximizing the values ​​of tolerance and promoting human fraternity. In addition, he noted that this work helps to immunize young people in the face of extremist and violent ideologies and promotes the values ​​of positive participation among the young.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Ali pointed out that TRENDS’ strategy pays great attention to the youth by nurturing their energies and enhancing their capabilities and skills to serve scientific research, adding that this strategy is helping to prepare a generation of leading young researchers who are able to foresee the future and actively participate in its making.

Expanding the knowledge base

For his part, Mr. Mohammed Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Journalists Association, explained that the signing of the memorandum of understanding and cooperation with TRENDS Research and Advisory establishes special relations between the two sides, expands the knowledge base to benefit from their shared experiences in all areas of common interest, and allows the exchange of views and ideas on regional and global issues and developments.

He added that the agreement will benefit from TRENDS’ research and scholarly expertise, and support for the the Association in the fields of training and consultancy through joint courses and seminars for the Association’s journalists in qualitative fields to upgrade their editorial tools and provide them with new experiences.

Spreading enlightened thinking

Mr Al Hammadi explained that the agreement will support cooperation between the two sides in the fields of training, courses and exchange of publications, as well as the issuance of joint publications and the simultaneous publication of research and reports. He added that the cooperation and partnership agreement with TRENDS will help both parties advance scientific research movement and attain a deeper understanding of various regional and global issues.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Journalists Association pointed out that communication, cooperation and interaction between media institutions and research centers constitutes a strategic partnership that will foster a new generation of young people capable of building the future. He added that media interaction with think tanks aims to raise social awareness and spread enlightened thought among the youth to confront the forces of darkness and extremism.
