TRENDS Research and Advisory concluded a cooperation agreement with Fudan University’s Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) to enhance research and academic cooperation. The agreement was signed by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, and Professor Jing Yijia, Dean of the Institute for Global Public Policy at Fudan University in China. The agreement stipulates cooperation between the two sides in conducting research on topics of shared interest, the exchange of expertise, and the organization of a joint global conference in the second half of 2022. It is noteworthy that Fudan University’s Institute for Global Public Policy (IGPP) is one of the leading institutes in China, as many of its international researchers are Nobel laureates. The Institute aims to advance research on global public policy and serves as a platform for policy studies from a global and multidisciplinary perspective. Fudan University, which was established in 1905, is one of the oldest and most prominent universities in China, with 35 faculties and 79 specializations. It comprises four campuses – Handan, Fenglin, Jiangwan and Zhangjiang – and is home to about 40,000 students and 3,000 teaching and research staff, some of whom are members of the renowned Chinese Academy of Sciences. Among its alumni are prominent politicians and economists.

On the occasion of the signing of this cooperation agreement, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali expressed his pleasure in this cooperation with Fudan University, which is renowned for its high academic and scientific standing, not only in China, but also worldwide. He added that this agreement comes in the context of TRENDS’ drive to establish partnerships with leading global academic institutions and think tanks. For his part, professor Jing Yijia, Dean of the Institute for Global Public Policy at Fudan University, expressed his pleasure in the signing of this research cooperation with TRENDS, which he described as a beacon of research excellence with a global reputation. He emphasized that cooperation with TRENDS is a qualitative addition to Fudan’s research and scientific activity, and underlined the congruence of visions between the Institute and TRENDS on the role of robust research in the achievement of development and peace and the dissemination of sound knowledge. The signing of the agreement was carried out remotely and was attended, from the side of TRENDS, by Dr. Fatouh Haikal, Director of Scientific Research; Sultan Majed, Deputy Head of Scientific Research; Sumaya Al-Hadhrami, Head of the Conference Department; Reem Omar Al Ubaidy, Head of Strategic Communication; and from the side of Fudan University, by Dr. Jing Yijla, Dean of the Institute for Global Public Policy; Dr. Ping Zhang, School of International Relations and Public Affairs; Dr. Xueying Zhang, School of International Relations and Public Affairs; Dr. Jia Cao, Director of Research; and Ms. Rong Zhang, Director of International Affairs. TRENDS Research and Advisory has so far signed over 110 partnership and cooperation agreements with various international universities, institutions and think tanks.
