
Nicholas Blanford

Nicholas Blanford is an internationally-recognized expert on military affairs in the Middle East and particularly Lebanese Hezbollah’s evolving military activities, which have remained a focus of his work for nearly three decades. Based in Beirut since 1994, he is a consultant in matters related to security and politics in Lebanon and Syria. He is also a nonresident senior fellow with the Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C. A prolific author and frequent contributor to various outlets including the world-renowned Janes, Blanford is the author of Warriors of God: Inside Hezbollah’s Thirty-Year Struggle Against Israel (Random House, 2011); and Killing Mr Lebanon: The Assassination of Rafik Hariri and its Impact on the Middle East (IB Tauris, 2006). Previously, he was the Beirut correspondent of The Christian Science Monitor. He has also reported from Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Morocco.
