As part of its efforts to strengthen the bridge between research, thought, and media, TRENDS Research & Advisory has signed a partnership agreement with Lebanon’s An-Nahar newspaper. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation in research and media fields, support knowledge production, and promote media content grounded in rigorous academic research.

The agreement was signed at TRENDS’ headquarters in Abu Dhabi by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, and journalist Nayla Tueni, Editor-in-Chief of An-Nahar, in the presence of senior officials from both sides.

The partnership includes coordination and the exchange of publications, studies, and visits, as well as exploring opportunities to jointly organize research, media, and workshop events, thereby strengthening the role of knowledge-based media in the Arab world.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali emphasized that the media is a key partner in promoting the values of knowledge and objectivity, noting that cooperation between think tanks and media institutions serves as a cornerstone for shaping collective awareness and providing in-depth insights into regional and global transformations.

He added that, through its partnerships with leading media institutions, TRENDS aims to transfer knowledge from the academic research sphere to the practical media domain, fostering a balanced Arab media discourse that supports sustainable development.

Dr. Al-Ali stressed that cooperation with the renowned An-Nahar newspaper is a model of effective partnership between think tanks and media institutions that fosters deeper intellectual awareness of emerging challenges and opportunities.

Nayla Tueni expressed her pride in this partnership, praising TRENDS Research & Advisory for its growing role in analyzing political, intellectual, and social phenomena through a scientific, objective lens. She affirmed that this collaboration will help advance publishing and analysis grounded in credible research, while also enhancing the exchange of media and research expertise in the service of truth and accurate information.

“At An-Nahar, we value TRENDS’ initiative to strengthen the bridge between media and research. The intersection between serious journalism and rigorous scholarship is exactly what our region needs today to navigate the flood of information and to deliver responsible content that restores confidence in the media as a source of knowledge and truth,” Tueni said.

Following the signing of the agreement, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali presented Nayla Tueni with several of TRENDS’ research publications, including a copy of its award-winning book The Era of Pearls: From Poverty to Prosperity – The Journey of the United Arab Emirates from Pre-Pearl Days to the Post-Oil World, which received the 2025 Sharjah International Book Fair Award for Best Emirati Book in the Studies category.

A TRENDS delegation had earlier held discussions at An-Nahar’s headquarters in Beirut on the sidelines of the 21st Arab Media Forum to explore avenues for collaboration and to exchange perspectives on the media’s role in supporting development and shaping contemporary Arab awareness.
