As part of its research tour in Canada, TRENDS Research & Advisory, through its virtual office in Canada, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Secure Canada, an organization specializing in community security, raising awareness, and research related to countering extremism and protecting communities.
The signing took place in Toronto in the presence of officials from both sides. The MoU was signed on behalf of TRENDS by its CEO, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, and on behalf of the Canadian side by Ms. Stacy Granovsky, Board Member of Secure Canada.
The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation on joint research projects, training programs, and the exchange of expertise in community security, extremism studies, and social cohesion. It supports joint efforts to promote peace and strengthen stability in Canada and around the world.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali affirmed that signing the MoU comes as part of TRENDS’ global expansion to strengthen knowledge partnerships with leading institutions in the fields of security and peace. He expressed his delight at the opportunity to enhance collaboration with Secure Canada, one of the active and influential organizations in community security. He noted that both sides will work on developing specialized initiatives that support scientific research and contribute to public policies aimed at enhancing security and protecting communities from contemporary threats. “We are confident that this cooperation will open broad horizons for research and applied projects that will benefit both parties,” he added.
Stacy Granovsky, a Board Member of Secure Canada, expressed her great satisfaction with the agreement’s conclusion, emphasizing that this partnership represents an important step toward expanding the scope of research collaboration between the two institutions. She said she looks forward to future cooperation on peace and security issues in Canada.
