TRENDS Research & Advisory concluded its first participation in the Kuwait International Book Fair, organized by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, under the theme Capital of Culture…Homeland of Books. During the 48th edition of the fair, TRENDS showcased more than 500 publications, research papers, and studies addressing cybersecurity, the global economy, artificial intelligence, and other vital fields. It also held a series of panel discussions and meetings that enriched constructive intellectual dialogue.
TRENDS’ participation reflected its mission to promote culture and knowledge, as well as its commitment to expanding its regional and international research presence. The center’s pavilion attracted a distinguished audience of visitors, thinkers, researchers, and authors who explored its publications and research, training, and advisory services. Visitors praised the center’s credible, in-depth content, which helps enlighten communities and counter extremist ideas.
Deepening Intellectual Dialogue
The pavilion welcomed several ministers, diplomats, and senior officials, including H.E. Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs; H.E. Dr. Matar Hamed Al-Neyadi, UAE Ambassador to Kuwait; Khalifa Al-Rabah, Director of the Kuwait International Book Fair and Director of Book Fairs at the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters; and Dr. Khalil Al-Khatib, President of the Arab Council for Knowledge Diplomacy.
Visitors reviewed TRENDS’ publications and global research vision, as well as its mission to deepen rigorous intellectual dialogue, provide scientific analyses of current realities, address challenges, and explore the future. They praised the center’s efforts to produce knowledge, anticipate global trends, and advance scientific and cultural diplomacy.
On the sidelines of its participation in the book fair, the TRENDS delegation visited several participating research institutions, think tanks, and academic entities, and discussed potential avenues for academic and intellectual cooperation with representatives of regional and international pavilions.
Credible Research Output
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, said that the center’s first participation in the Kuwait International Book Fair was highly successful across all levels. TRENDS presented its scientific series, books, and research outputs to a new audience, receiving broad recognition for the credibility and balanced scholarly approach of its content.
Dr. Al-Ali valued the high-level visits the pavilion received during the fair, noting that this reflects the strong interest in TRENDS’ publications and mission among diverse segments of visitors. He added that the fair serves as a significant platform for authors, publishers, and thinkers, offering a significant opportunity to introduce TRENDS’ scientific and research contributions.
He emphasized that TRENDS is committed to enriching global research through credible and objective scientific output. Participating in book fairs aims primarily to strengthen the center’s presence in influential cultural and intellectual forums, convey its research mission, and highlight its future-oriented global strategy.
Advancing Culture and Knowledge
Rawdha Al-Marzooqi, researcher and Director of Distribution and Exhibitions at TRENDS, stated that participating in regional and international book fairs reflects the center’s strategic vision of supporting culture and knowledge through its diverse publications, including original works, translations, scientific series, and research encyclopedias that address contemporary developments and global issues.
She noted that TRENDS publications drew strong interest from fair visitors, particularly the TRENDS Encyclopedia on the Muslim Brotherhood, of which 15 volumes have been published to date out of 30 planned. The encyclopedia topped the list of best-selling publications at the pavilion, attracting significant attention from visitors who praised its detailed, well-documented, and academically rigorous analysis of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is one of the most dangerous political Islamist movements.
