One of the notable discussions was a panel on Gulf-China relations, in collaboration with the China International Communications Group, which garnered significant attention from writers, authors, and visitors, emphasizing the depth of the relations between the two sides and highlighting culture and knowledge as important bridges in these relations.
TRENDS researchers participating in the Beijing International Book Fair visited international and Chinese pavilions at the fair. TRENDS and CICIR Explore Research Collaboration Opportunities
As part of its global research tour, TRENDS Research and Advisory held a panel discussion with the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), affiliated with Peking University, to explore ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides in research and knowledge fields, and to exchange experiences and expertise, thus promoting joint scientific collaboration.
During the discussion, which was held on the sidelines of TRENDS’ participation in the Beijing International Book Fair and attended by experts, academics, and researchers from both sides, views were exchanged on scientific research, its role in disseminating knowledge, and prospects for joint cooperation between TRENDS and CICIR, including the exchange of experts, researchers, and publications.
Both parties emphasized the importance of opening new horizons for cooperation to enhance research in various fields, including holding joint seminars, exchanging publications, and providing research consultations.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of TRENDS, emphasized the importance of this panel discussion in opening avenues for cooperation between think tanks and exchanging expertise and ideas. He noted that TRENDS, with its global vision, aims to be an international knowledge bridge, citing the center’s global offices, with the latest one inaugurated in Beijing.
Professor Zhang Jian, Vice President of CICIR, welcomed TRENDS’ delegation and expressed keenness to cooperate with the center in scientific research, consultations, and the exchange of experts. He praised the quality of TRENDS’ work, its research efforts, and its multilingual publications. He also emphasized the importance of research in enhancing understanding and tolerance between different cultures.
Both parties agreed to maintain communication, aiming to enhance cooperation and formalize it through a cooperation agreement that outlines its methods and areas.
