TRENDS Research and Advisory, in collaboration with its partners, has launched the TRENDS Summer Research initiative to encourage young researchers and university students to engage in innovative and effective scientific research on various issues of interest to TRENDS.
This initiative includes a program to develop the trainees’ skills in scientific research, media, writing, and other specializations within the center.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, emphasized the importance of this initiative in supporting rigorous and innovative research and empowering young researchers. He noted that it aims to develop skills and enhance capabilities in research, media, and other fields, contributing to a competitive environment that improves research and knowledge outputs and creates a constructive and purposeful scientific movement.
Dr. Al-Ali stated that “the initiative targets young researchers and university students and is part of a series of initiatives by TRENDS to encourage them to continue their scientific research journey, contributing to quality improvement of scientific outputs regionally and globally.”
The initiative is headed by Abdulhadi Al-Hammadi, Head of Public Relations and Media Sector at TRNEDS, who affirmed that the TRENDS Summer Research initiative complements TRENDS’ journey. He explained that it follows previous successful initiatives and focuses on enhancing cooperation with TRENDS’ strategic partners. The initiative includes a comprehensive program to develop researchers’ skills and provide opportunities for young researchers to enhance their capabilities and serve scientific research in various fields.
Nasser Al-Ali, Head of the Administrative Affairs Sector, stated that “the initiative represents a new step in TRENDS’ efforts to develop young researchers’ skills, empower them, and enhance their skills, contributing to future-making, and enabling accurate analysis and long-term foresight.”
Elyazia Al-Hosani, Director of the Media Department at TRENDS, mentioned that the TRENDS Summer Research initiative is a unique opportunity for young researchers to develop their skills and unleash their research and creative abilities. She noted that the initiative is part of TRENDS’ commitment to supporting and enhancing scientific research. Al-Hosani explained that the Media Department will contribute to the initiative by providing trainees with social media skills, content creation, and report and news preparation, emphasizing that training and development are crucial for enhancing skills and performing tasks correctly.
Saqer Al-Suwaidi, Director of Training and Development at TRENDS, explained that the TRENDS Summer Research initiative aims to enhance the skills of students and researchers in various fields during the summer. It offers them opportunities to participate in academic research, train in research methods, and work with academic scholars on specific research projects. He pointed out that these programs enable students to gain practical experience and deepen their understanding of their academic areas of interest.
Abrar Al-Ali, Opinion Poll Specialist in the Global Barometer Department, stated that her department is contributing to the initiative to provide trainees with knowledge in preparing opinion polls and digital analytical reports. She highlighted the importance of understanding public opinion trends to develop accurate solutions and insights. She said that the Global Barometer Department conducts field surveys across the seven emirates and the Arab world, targeting thousands of respondents, with 75 opinion polls conducted since 2020.
Reem Al-Kindi, Head of Development Section in the Training Department, mentioned that in implementing TRENDS’ strategic plan for 2024, which ensures its readiness for the future, the Training Department works on equipping young students at universities, academies and research institutes with essential research skills and modern research technologies.
