For the fifth consecutive year, TRENDS Research and Advisory will participate in the 2024 Sharjah International Book Fair, organized by the Sharjah Book Authority from November 6 to 17, 2024, at the Expo Centre Sharjah under the slogan “It starts With a Book”. This 43rd edition of the book fair will be enriched with over 350 TRENDS scientific and knowledge-based publications.
Throughout the book fair, TRENDS’ pavilion (L-24, Hall 6) will host a series of panel discussions and intellectual dialogues. Additionally, the book fair’s signing corner will witness the launch of 10 new publications by TRENDS experts and researchers.
Supporting and developing knowledge
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, said that the Center’s participation in the Sharjah International Book Fair for the fifth year aims to enhance its status as a global leader in scientific research, with a particular focus on supporting and developing future-oriented knowledge. He noted that the participation also opens new avenues for collaboration and partnerships with academic, research and cultural institutions worldwide, thus strengthening intellectual exchange and advancing knowledge dissemination.
Innovative research projects
Dr. Mohammed Al-Ali highlighted that regular participation in the Sharjah Book Fair promotes scientific research and knowledge dissemination by presenting new and impactful studies and analyses of contemporary global challenges. This year’s participation will also feature innovative research projects addressing climate change, sustainability, artificial intelligence, advanced technology, and other pressing issues.
He indicated that as a platform for dialogue, the book fair offers vast opportunities for meeting experts, researchers and specialists from international institutions to exchange views on the state of culture and knowledge at both the international and regional levels as well as promote scientific research globally. Through scientific symposiums and sessions, the event will encourage constructive dialogue among researchers from around the world.
A knowledge-rich pavilion
Rawda Al-Marzouqi, Director of Distribution and Exhibitions Department at TRENDS, said that the Center’s pavilion will feature over 350 scientific and knowledge-based publications, including original and translated books, as well as an extensive collection of scientific series available in more than 15 languages. These publications cover a wide range of global and regional interests, including economic and political research, international relations, energy, and natural resources, alongside the latest editions of the TRENDS Encyclopedia of the Muslim Brotherhood.
AI and podcasts
Al-Marzouqi explained that TRENDS’ pavilion will be equipped with advanced technology, including AI tools, such as Echo and Moxxie chatbots, along with the Tara AI-enhanced glasses, allowing visitors easy access to the Center’s publications, research and studies spanning various scientific and knowledge-based fields. She added that TRENDS’ AI-based tools will also enable the public to explore the Center’s range of services, especially training programs for young researchers, opinion polls, specialized consultations, and training courses. The pavilion will also feature a podcast studio that will record a new series of Trending Echoes episodes with a selection of thinkers, academics and key figures participating in the book fair.
