TRENDS Research and Advisory held an exceptional panel discussion at the French Senate with Senator Nathalie Goulet, focusing on the role of think tanks and scientific research in combating extremist ideologies and promoting values of coexistence and tolerance. The discussion emphasized the importance of fostering international dialogue to address intellectual and cultural challenges.

During the session, Senator Goulet praised TRENDS’ research tour and the panel discussion it organized at the Senate on “Coexistence, Brotherhood’s Separatism: Crossed Perspectives”. She commended TRENDS for its efforts in advancing scientific research and combating extremist ideologies through its innovative initiatives and distinguished studies, which aim to provide practical and sustainable solutions for promoting peace and understanding among nations.

The panel highlighted the critical need for collaboration between think tanks and decision-makers at the international level and reaffirmed a shared vision to build safer and more tolerant societies to address global challenges.

As a gesture of appreciation, Senator Goulet granted TRENDS the translation rights of her notable book on terrorism financing from French to English. This contribution supports TRENDS’ mission to combat violent extremism and raise global awareness about the challenges and negative impacts of terrorism financing.

In recognition of Senator Nathalie Goulet’s pioneering role in supporting research efforts, TRENDS presented her with the TRENDS Research Medal. This honor reflects her leadership in promoting values of tolerance and supporting knowledge-based initiatives to counter extremism.
