TRENDS Research & Advisory has announced the opening of registration for the second edition of the TRENDS Hub Scientific Research Award, which targets specialized research and studies in artificial intelligence (AI). The award will continue to accept applications until June 30, 2025, with the announcement of the top three winners set for September 9, 2025.

The second edition aims to support scientific excellence, foster innovation and leadership, empower researchers, and create a competitive environment that sparks productive scientific activity. It encourages researchers at both regional and global levels to engage in creative, effective, and innovative research on various AI-related issues and topics.

Supporting Innovation and Development

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, highlighted that dedicating the second edition of the TRENDS Hub Scientific Research Award to AI research is a significant step toward promoting innovation and development in this vital field, which has become an integral part of daily life and a key driver in the advancement of multiple critical sectors.

Dr. Al-Ali stated that the award aims to encourage the development of AI technologies through support for innovative research and specialized studies, fostering collaboration, and addressing the ethical and social challenges posed by the AI revolution.

Addressing Privacy Challenges

TRENDS’ CEO emphasized that scientific research plays a pivotal role in developing AI tools and techniques, including improving algorithm accuracy and speed, enhancing big data analysis capabilities, and supporting self-learning. He also noted that specialized research can address security and privacy challenges in AI systems and improve human-machine interaction capabilities.

The award seeks to encourage researchers to present innovative solutions to current challenges in AI, strengthening its applications in healthcare, education, industry, economics, social life, and more. The initiative supports ongoing scientific research efforts to elevate the quality of scientific outputs at regional and global levels.

Knowledge and Expertise Exchange

Winners of the top three places will be announced on September 9, 2025, marking the anniversary of TRENDS Research & Advisory’s establishment. Al-Mehri added that the second edition of the award aims to build bridges of cooperation between researchers, academics, and scientific institutions for knowledge and expertise exchange, as well as to collaborate on developing practical AI applications. The award also focuses on research offering practical solutions to real-world problems, such as improving medical diagnostics, energy efficiency, enhancing AI ethics, and promoting social responsibility.

TRENDS Hub Awards

The top three research papers will receive certificates of appreciation and monetary prizes: $5,000 for the first place, $3,000 for the second, and $2,000 for the third. Winning studies will be published on TRENDS’ online platforms and social media channels. Moreover, the winning researchers will have the opportunity to apply for research fellowships at TRENDS Research & Advisory and receive priority invitations to participate in the center’s training courses.
