Fabio Indeo holds a Ph.D in Geopolitics

Currently he is an external researcher on energy security and connectivity issues at the University of Siena (Italy) and analyst on Central Asia Security at the Nato Defense College Foundation. Furthermore, he is also geopolitical analyst for The Hague Research Institute and for the Institute for Asia (ISIA).He is one of the founder of the Italian Observatory for Central Asia and Caspian.

His research field is Geopolitics, Connectivity and Energy Security in Central Asia and Caspian region (with a main focus on geopolitics of pipelines and the role of external actors in the region – EU, China, Russia and US- BRI) but also having a global approach analysing the role of energy chokepoints as well as maritime routes, Middle East and China energy scenario and diversification’s strategies, connectivity projects between East and West.
