Dr. Çubukçuoğlu is a Senior Fellow, Director of the Türkiye Program, and a member of the Advisory Council at TRENDS Research & Advisory in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He also serves on the advisory board for energy geopolitics and maritime security at Koç University’s Maritime Forum (KÜDENFOR) in Istanbul. A geopolitical strategist, he works at the intersection of policy analysis, consultancy, and media, with a focus on the Middle East. Dr. Çubukçuoğlu holds a doctorate in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University SAIS and a master’s degree from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science and an MBA from the University of Edinburgh. Dr. Çubukçuoğlu contributes regularly to international media and think tanks, and is the author of Turkey’s Naval Activism: Maritime Geopolitics and the Blue Homeland Concept (Palgrave Macmillan). His current research centers on Turkish foreign policy and maritime strategy.
