The United Arab Emirates and Its Humanitarian Role in Gaza
29 Jul 2025
The Gaza Strip is experiencing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis that cannot be ignored. The entire world has started to shine a spotlight on the hardship, suffering, killings, and destruction endured by the people of Gaza. In response, the United Arab Emirates has acted positively by delivering a package of humanitarian aid via air and land, in the hope of alleviating the crisis as much as possible.
The UAE’s actions must be understood within the context of current events. These steps align with the approach adopted by the UAE since the outbreak of events on October 7, which has focused on playing a positive role—especially on the humanitarian level—to help end the crisis as soon as possible and provide the necessary aid to the people of Gaza, whether medical, food-related, or otherwise. These actions reflect the UAE’s moral commitment to this crisis and confirm that humanitarian engagement is a foundation for paving the way toward creating a positive reality that serves the aspirations of the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza.
The UAE’s policies also demonstrate a distinct level of independence, reinforcing the country’s status as a key player in global humanitarian diplomacy. This undoubtedly boosts Palestinian trust in the UAE’s positions especially when it comes to the two-state solution, which the UAE has long championed as the only viable path to extinguish the flames of war, hatred, and hostility between Palestinians and Israelis. International praise for the UAE’s role—especially from the United Nations—further affirms the global community’s trust in the UAE as a force for stability in the region, one that seeks to establish the foundations of peace and stability while avoiding the paths that lead to greater chaos.
