Fadil Hanci is a researcher at the Omran Center for Strategic Studies. His interdisciplinary work focuses on Syria, with a broader interest in Middle Eastern affairs. He has authored and co-authored a range of analyses – both brief and in-depth – on key issues such as military and security affairs, armed groups, governance structures, and regional foreign policy dynamics.
He holds a master’s degree in political history and international relations from Marmara University, where he conducted extensive research work (thesis) on the transformation of the narrative and strategic practices of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in Syria from 2012 to 2023, titled “Change in the Strategic Culture of Violent Non-State Actors: The Case of HTS in Syria”. Fadil is a native Arabic speaker and is proficient in both Turkish and English.
