TRENDS Research & Advisory concluded its sixth distinguished participation in the Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 as an official research partner of the 44th edition. The center organized a series of research, academic, and knowledge-based events that enriched the Fair’s cultural program, which featured the participation of 2,350 publishers and exhibitors from 118 countries and presented more than 1,200 cultural, creative, and artistic activities.

           

TRENDS also launched 17 new books that reflect its research vision of advancing culture and knowledge while promoting a strong culture of scientific research in society. These publications address a range of contemporary regional and international issues, including the phenomenon of cyberterrorism, the evolution and prospects of Emirati cultural diplomacy, digital media crises, the philosophy of media criticism, and the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood on regional and global stability, in addition to the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on human talent development.

           

The TRENDS pavilion welcomed a wide array of officials, academics, researchers, and experts who commended the center’s global research efforts and its strategy of foreseeing the future through knowledge. Among the distinguished visitors were Sheikh Dr. Ammar bin Nasser Al Mualla, UAE’s Attaché for Education and Technology Sciences to the Arab Republic of Egypt; Sheikh Engineer Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport; and Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz bin Ali bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Environmental Advisor to the Ajman Government, who praised the center’s pioneering role in supporting culture, knowledge, and creativity.

           

Sixth Exceptional Participation

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, stated that the center’s participation in this year’s Sharjah International Book Fair stood out as it served as the event’s official research partner. The TRENDS pavilion showcased an innovative model that combined research excellence with technological innovation, attracting a large number of visitors who engaged with the advanced digital tools developed by the center to interact with the center’s research outputs.

He added that TRENDS’ sixth participation in the fair was exceptional and influential, contributing to a dynamic intellectual and cultural atmosphere. The center introduced a pioneering model for integrating modern technology with scientific research and for making knowledge accessible to all segments of society. Dr. Al-Ali noted that the new TRENDS publications represent the culmination of a continuous journey of dedicated study and reaffirm the center’s status as a leading global platform for thought and knowledge.

           

Deep Academic Insights

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali noted that TRENDS’ sixth participation in the exhibition featured the launch and signing of seventeen new books that addressed and analyzed a range of contemporary regional and international issues and events. These publications presented profound scientific insights that reflect the center’s excellence in strategic, forward-looking research. He added that TRENDS achieved yet another milestone by winning the Best Emirati Book Award in the Studies category for its publication, The Pearl Era: From Poverty to Prosperity, an achievement that adds to the center’s growing record of scholarly and intellectual success.

           

Dr. Al-Ali emphasized that TRENDS’ exceptional participation in the Sharjah International Book Fair reaffirms its status as a leading global intellectual platform that effectively enriches the cultural, scientific, and knowledge landscape. He highlighted that this role reflects the center’s vision of advancing knowledge dissemination, promoting scientific research, and preparing research talents capable of shaping and leading the future.

           

Comprehensive Interactive Experience

Rawda Al Marzouqi, Researcher and Director of the Distribution and Exhibitions Department at TRENDS, affirmed that the center’s participation in the Sharjah International Book Fair as an official research partner witnessed remarkable public engagement. Visitors interacted enthusiastically with the innovative digital technologies and tools featured in the pavilion, transforming their visit into a comprehensive interactive experience that enriched their knowledge and introduced them to the center’s distinctive vision.

           

She explained that the innovations showcased in the pavilion included advanced digital technologies that enabled visitors to explore TRENDS’ key publications and browse their rich content with ease. The pavilion also featured an interactive screen presenting a detailed overview of the center’s research, training, and consulting services, along with a dynamic map highlighting TRENDS’ global network of offices across major world capitals and its strategic partnerships with leading international institutions.

           

The Global Barometer Corner

Al Marzouqi noted that the pavilion featured a dedicated corner for analytical studies, opinion polls, and forward-looking research produced by the Global Barometer Department. This section offered visitors the opportunity to explore the latest field studies and analyses of global public opinion. She added that TRENDS’ participation also included a special event organized by the TRENDS Youth Council, a panel discussion titled Generation without borders: How globalization is creating new versions of ourselves in the era of global reading. TRENDS further celebrated young talent by honoring the top three winners of the Future Researchers competition.
