TRENDS Research and Advisory is participating as a strategic partner in the 13th edition of the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) 2024, organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau on September 4-5 at Expo Centre Sharjah. The forum will bring together an elite group of decision-makers, thought leaders, and experts to explore the future of communication and media.
Themed “Agile Governments… Innovative Communication,” the 13th edition of the IGCF will address the latest developments and transformations in the global developmental and economic landscape. The forum will feature more than 250 speakers from around the world, engaging in 160 events, including keynote sessions, side discussions, inspirational talks, workshops, and training programs across one main stage and 17 side platforms, supported by 35 local, regional, and international partners.
Rich Agenda
TRENDS will enrich the IGCF with a robust agenda of seminars, discussion panels, and unique knowledge contributions. Additionally, it will have a dedicated booth equipped with advanced technology, including AI-powered robots “Echo” and “Moxie,” hologram technology, and interactive platforms.
TRENDS’ participation in the IGCF will also include a podcast studio for recording new episodes of Trending Echoes series with key figures attending the event, including thought leaders, officials, and experts. This interactive platform will facilitate deep dialogues and fruitful discussions on the key issues addressed in the forum’s sessions.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, emphasized that TRENDS is proud to be a strategic partner of the 13th edition of the IGCF 2024. TRENDS will contribute research papers, knowledge discussions, and diverse events, shedding light on the new roles of research and think tanks in supporting government communication. The discussions will also explore the future of government communication in the context of modern technology and augmented reality.
He noted that these diverse contributions reflect TRENDS’ dedication to developing a new intellectual framework that is based on scientific research and capable of addressing the challenges facing the government communication and other contemporary issues.
Three Intellectual Symposia
Fahad Al-Mahri, Head of TRENDS Dubai Sector, stated that as a strategic partner to the 13th edition of the IGCF, TRENDS will contribute with a special agenda that includes three intellectual symposia. In addition, it will launch a study on government agility and its impact, followed by a discussion session to present the study’s findings and recommendations. One of TRENDS’ young researchers will also participate in the Researchers platform to highlight the center’s research experience, strategic goals, and future vision.
Al-Mahri pointed out that TRENDS’ intellectual agenda includes a symposium titled “Beyond the Virtual World: The Future of Government Communication in the New Wave of Personal Interaction and Augmented Reality Technologies.” Another symposium will be on “The Role of Scientific Research and Think Tanks in Supporting Government Communication.” The third symposium will focus on “The Future of Media in the Age of Agile Governments: Challenges and Opportunities.” Additionally, TRENDS will record new episodes of its Trending Echoes podcast with the IGCF’s guests and participants.
