Trends Research and Advisory concluded a successful engagement in the 33rd edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. The Center held a wide range of events over seven days including seminars, lectures, panel discussions, and released new publications. Trends pavilion received high profile visits and saw the signing of cooperation agreements with peer institutions. On the last day, His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, President of the UAE Federal National Council, visited Trends pavilion where he was briefed about the Center’s research output. He appreciated the employment of artificial intelligence in Trends research work.
Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa bin Saif Al Nahyan, and His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, the organizer of Abu Dhabi Book Fair, visited Trends pavilion. Dr. Ali said that Trends annual participation supplies the book fair with cultural research output of high quality.
Participation in Aqdar Cultural Salon
Trends participated in a dialogue session entitled “Sustaining the Cultural Insights of Emirati Youth”, organized by Aqdar Cultural Salon. Dr. Mohammed Al-Ali, CEO of Trends, stressed the importance of culture in shaping public awareness and referred to the role of cultural sustainability in preserving the historical, cultural heritage and identity of societies. He indicated that the UAE values the concept of sustainability in its various dimensions, including cultural sustainability, which has become a key pillar of sustainable development strategies. He explained that cultural sustainability represents a priority in developing the youth, because of the high value of young people as a fundamental pillar of developing the Emirati society.
Dr. Al-Ali referred to the efforts of Trends in promoting a sustainable cultural environment, and creating the appropriate atmosphere to enable talents that deliver the prosperity of cultural and creative industries. He spoke about the establishment of a council for young researchers at Trends, which consists of young people who have a passion for culture and knowledge. He said that many training programs have been designed to develop the research skills of young people.
Trends is a leading model in research publication
Trends Research and Advisory participated in the professional program of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, through a working paper presented by Dr. Fattouh Heykal, Scientific Advisor of Trends, entitled “Publishing in Research Centers, what is different?”. The paper addressed the main points that distinguish publishing in research centers from publishing in scientific journals. Dr. Heykal stressed that study centers have unique advantages that make them more able to deliver accurate and objective research output, due to their commitment to strict scientific methodology, their use of reliable sources of information, and cross vetting and academic refereeing. Dr. Heykal explained that the research work in the research centers combines the academic nature and the applied dimension, which makes them more able to deliver advisory studies to different entities and institutions.
Dr. Haykal presented the experience of the Trends Research and Advisory as a leading model in the field of research publishing. He said that the Center’s publications are internationally recognized and have received wide appreciation in international book fairs. He explained that “Trends” has a wide network of non-resident researchers in various countries of the world, which enriches the content of its publications which reflect various opinions in different cultural settings.
Dr. Heykal explained that “Trends” has an active translation and publishing program that promotes global cultural understanding. It translates and publishes books that have global impact in different languages, and translates its publications into different languages to reach out to the largest global audience.
Dr. Heykal concluded by confirming Trends commitment to enhance the research skills of young researchers through advanced training programs. It has a Scientific Research Program for Young Researchers to enhance the sustainability of scientific research and empowers young visions and insights.
Effective Engagement
Trends pavilion received visits by senior officials. His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence visited the pavilion, which is enhanced by artificial intelligence. The pavilion received visits by a large crowd of the Book Fair audience, who valued the Center’s knowledge efforts. They appreciated the diversity and comprehensiveness of its research titles.
A Trends delegation, headed by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, the CEO of Trends, visited a number of other pavilions. They discussed joint cooperation and ways to enhance research and knowledge exchange and establish mutual partnerships.
Rich Knowledge Program
Trends has organized a rich program that attracted the audience and provided a large package of research that was well received and praised by the public. Dozens of titles from various research publications were showcased at the Center’s pavilion.
New Book Releases
Trends released five new books, most notably a study on “Global Trends in Artificial Intelligence”, and the twelfth book of the Encyclopedia of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Center has organized panel discussions that were attended by a group of intellectuals, researchers and the book fair visitors.
Agreements and Partnerships
Trends signed cooperation agreements with peer institutions to promote coordination that enhances the dissemination of balanced knowledge, based on well-documented scientific research.
Trends and Pyramedia Group Partnership
Trends and Pyramedia Group signed an important research partnership agreement at the center’s pavilion. The agreement was signed by Dr. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Trends Research and Advisory, and Ms. Nashwa Al Ruwaini, the CEO of Pyramedia Group.
This agreement shall enhance cooperation between the two sides in the field of research and strategic studies, training and consultancy. The two sides shall work together to conduct studies and research that promote visionary knowledge.
