TRENDS Research & Advisory has discussed ways to cooperate and partner with the UAE’s Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR), particularly in research, training, and capacity building. They have also discussed collaboration on field surveys and opinion polls to raise public awareness.

The two sides also discussed mechanisms for cooperation in training students in the principles and methodologies of scientific research, organizing conferences and knowledge-based awareness workshops, and jointly preparing a range of forward-looking and future-oriented studies.
The meeting, held at FANR’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, was attended by Christer Viktorsson, the Director General of FANR, accompanied by the authority’s senior officials, and researchers from TRENDS.

Awadh Al-Breiki, Head of the TRENDS Global Sector at TRENDS Research & Advisory, emphasized the Center’s strong focus on training and qualifying national talent in strategic scientific research through innovative training programs and interactive courses delivered by TRENDS experts.
He explained that peaceful nuclear energy is a cornerstone of the UAE’s energy security and environmental sustainability. TRENDS and FANR will strengthen this role through foresight studies, awareness workshops, and translating shared visions into tangible projects and initiatives that serve the sustainable development goals.
Al-Breiki added that TRENDS Research & Advisory believes in harnessing research and training expertise to support knowledge-based decision-making. Through this constructive collaboration, both parties will develop in-depth studies on nuclear energy’s contribution to achieving carbon neutrality, focusing on the technological, economic, and social dimensions that are key to advancing this vital sector.
