TRENDS Research & Advisory, through its TRENDS International Training Institute, in collaboration with RT group, launched a specialized training course titled “Presentation Skills Between Traditional and Digital Media”.

           

The three-day course was held at TRENDS’ headquarters in Abu Dhabi and was led by RT media presenter, Mais Mohammed. The six-hour training course attracted media professionals, researchers, and digital media enthusiasts from various entities, Including the National Library and Archives, Aletihad News Center, Rabdan Academy, and a number of male and female trainees from Zayed University and the United Arab Emirates University.

           

The training course aimed to equip participants with essential media presentation skills, covering both traditional broadcasting and digital media platforms. It focused on developing professional interaction techniques, enhancing audience engagement, and effectively managing different types of media programs.

           

Rapid Shift to Digital Media

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, emphasized the significance of launching this course in partnership with RT group, particularly at a time when the world is experiencing a rapid shift from traditional to digital media. He highlighted that advancements in AI and emerging technologies necessitate continuous skill development in the media industry to keep pace with these evolving trends.

Dr. Al-Ali stated that the course aimed to empower participants with a deep understanding of modern digital tools, which would positively impact the quality of the content they produce, whether visual, audio, or written. He added that the training course enhanced the development of media professionals, equipping them with the skills needed to navigate current and future challenges in an ever-evolving media landscape.

           

Traditional vs. Digital Media

Sultan Al-Rubaie, Senior Researcher and Head of TRENDS International Training Institute, explained that the first day of the course introduced participants to the fundamentals of media presentation, the differences between traditional and digital media, and the key role of a presenter in building a distinct media identity.

The sessions also covered voice modulation, effective body language, and tone control techniques, alongside an overview of various presentation styles, including news anchoring, entertainment hosting, and documentary narration. Additionally, the course addressed common mistakes in media presentation and strategies to avoid them.

           

The second day focused on the essential elements of successful media presentation, including preparation, research, and audience engagement.

Participants engaged in practical exercises on scriptwriting and content preparation. The training also emphasized the role of technology and social media in strengthening a digital presenter’s presence, analyzing successful case studies in the industry.

           

Overcoming Challenges

The final day of the course was dedicated to handling challenges in live broadcasting, managing pressure and unexpected situations, and mastering the art of effective dialogue and discussion moderation. The course also explored personal branding strategies, guiding participants on how to build a unique identity in the media sector.

           

Final Evaluation

At the conclusion of the “Presentation Skills Between Traditional and Digital Media” course, participants underwent a personal performance evaluation, identifying their strengths and areas for improvement. They were awarded certified completion certificates from the TRENDS International Training Institute, recognizing their achievement in completing the course.
