Aurika Shavtikova

Mrs. Aurika Shavtikova is an Associate Professor at RUDN University (People’s Friendship University of Russia, named after Patrice Lumumba) in Moscow, Russia. She earned her degree in Arabic Studies from RUDN University and furthered her education at Harvard Business School and in the University of Jordan. Her Ph.D. research aims to explore the use of polymodal text tools in Arabic and English film discourses. Thus, Aurika is the author of research articles and books specializing in Muslim and Middle Eastern studies, Arabic linguistics, and the global media landscape. She has seven years of experience leading the strategic communication and public relations department at an Arabic broadcasting channel. Straddling the worlds of classical research and her role as a non-native Arabic journalist in Arabic media, she combines various approaches and perspectives to formulate innovative hypotheses for her researches.
