Dr. Kobayashi Amane is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan (IEEJ). His expertise includes the politics and security of the Middle East and North Africa, focusing on Libya and energy geopolitics in the region. Kobayashi has previously served for the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA), the Energy and National Security Program of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the US. He has also worked for Libya’s post-conflict development projects with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) from 2013 to 2014.
