Samuel Ramani is an Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) and the CEO of Pangea Geopolitical Risk, a London-based consultancy. Samuel was previously a tutor of politics and international relations at the University of Oxford where he received his doctorate in 2021. Samuel is the author of two recent books for Oxford University Press/Hurst entitled “Russia in Africa: Resurgent Great Power or Bellicose Pretender?” and “Putin’s War on Ukraine: Russia’s Campaign for Global Counter-Revolution.” Samuel’s next book “Rudderless Superpower” will be published later in 2025 and examines the post-Cold War development of US policy towards Africa. Samuel is a regular contributor to major broadcast media outlets like CNN International, Sky News and the BBC, and print media outlets like Foreign Policy, The Telegraph, The Spectator and the Washington Post. Samuel regularly advises U.S, European, Indo-Pacific and MENA regional stakeholders on geopolitical and security developments across the globe.
