Urs Unkauf is the Federal Managing Director of the Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade (BWA Global Economic Network), a Berlin-based business association and think tank for economic diplomacy. He is also Senior Advisor to TRENDS Office in Berlin. He has studied history and sociology with an emphasis on international affairs and diplomacy in Tübingen, Aix-en-Provence/Marseille, and Berlin. Prior to his current position, he was a visiting researcher at the School of Public and International Affairs at ADA University in Baku and a research associate to a member of the German Bundestag. He lectures on energy and foreign policy at the Department of Historical and Political Education at the Leadership Development and Civic Education Centre of the German Armed Forces. He is the author and editor of various publications on diplomacy, geopolitics, and energy policy, including several books on the history of Germany’s diplomatic relations.
