TRENDS Research & Advisory signed a cooperation agreement with the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi to strengthen community culture and unify efforts to produce solid, applicable knowledge that reflects society’s reality and aspirations. This will be achieved through a series of joint research projects and studies, opinion polls, and the exchange of expertise in academic, social, and humanitarian fields.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit 2026, where TRENDS is participating as a contributing member. It was signed by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, and His Excellency Dr. Arif Al Hammadi, Acting Director-General of Strategic and Digital Affairs at the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, in the presence of several officials, academics, and experts attending the Summit.

Sustainable Development Policies
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali said that the agreement aims to translate enlightened ideas and visions into tangible outcomes. This, he noted, reinforces the UAE’s position as a hub for social innovation and sustainable, people-centered development policies. It also contributes to establishing an innovative institutional framework that embodies a shared vision for shaping a more advanced, prosperous, and resilient social future.
Dr. Al Ali added that the cooperation helps analyze and address vital societal issues, including family cohesion, social connectedness, youth well-being, and the impact of economic and digital transformations on the social fabric. Both sides will work to turn ideas and data into realistic visions and visions into actionable policies, thereby enhancing quality of life and social stability, which are the cornerstones of comprehensive development.
Specialized Studies and Surveys
The CEO of TRENDS explained that through this constructive cooperation, the two sides will also conduct in-depth, specialized studies on indicators of community happiness, quality of life, and social adaptation to labor-market changes, as well as on strengthening identity and belonging amid cultural diversity. A series of opinion polls will also be conducted to measure emerging trends and challenges, and to systematically and scientifically monitor social indicators.

Building Community Awareness
His Excellency Dr. Arif Al Hammadi, Acting Director-General of Strategic and Digital Affairs at the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, affirmed that the partnership with TRENDS Research & Advisory stems from a firm belief that building aware and cohesive societies begins with deep knowledge and an accurate understanding of the needs of all segments of society. He described TRENDS as a strategic partner with high research credibility, strong foresight, and analytical capabilities.
He explained that the cooperation also aims to develop an intelligent community monitoring system through public opinion surveys, field studies, and regular, accurate analytical readings that reflect societal dynamics and transformations. The agreement, he said, enables the design and evaluation of development programs using precise scientific standards, ensuring greater effectiveness and better alignment with community aspirations.

Dialogues and Training Programs
Dr. Arif Al Hammadi added that both sides will organize a range of community dialogues, symposia, and interactive workshops, release periodic community reports, and jointly design training programs to build the capacity of national talent in social analysis and impact measurement.
