-The recognition came in appreciation of Dr. Mohammed Al-Ali’s and the Center’s scientific efforts in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals
Coinciding with the 11th anniversary of the establishment of TRENDS Research & Advisory, the Meeting of Muslim Religious Leaders of BRICS Countries honored TRENDS, represented by its CEO, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, with the “Personality of the Year 2025” award, in recognition of his scientific and research efforts in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.
The award was presented by His Excellency Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, Grand Mufti and Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Humanities, and H.E. Dr. Ali Hussein Al-Zoghbi, President of the Federation of Muslim Associations in Brazil (FAMBRAS).

The recognition took place on the sidelines of the VI International conference “Spiritual Silk Road: the Role of Moral Values in Bridging Nations and Continents”, held in Rio de Janeiro, Federative Republic of Brazil, in which TRENDS is participating as a research partner.
The recognition highlighted Dr. Al-Ali’s distinguished career and TRENDS’ achievements in research and knowledge production over the past 11 years, while underscoring the center’s pivotal role—together with its team—in consolidating rigorous scientific and academic approaches, fostering global intellectual dialogue, and promoting a culture of research both regionally and internationally.
This honor represents a significant international acknowledgment of the research, scientific and intellectual contributions of TRENDS and its team, which have helped build bridges of communication, understanding and cooperation between cultures, peoples and societies. It has also reinforced TRENDS’ standing as one of the most prominent and influential think tanks worldwide.

Enriching Human Knowledge
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, expressed his pride in receiving this recognition, noting that the honor is a collective achievement for TRENDS’ researchers, thinkers and experts, who work tirelessly to enrich human knowledge through their rigorous research and scholarly output.
He emphasized that this award is not merely a personal accolade, but a recognition of TRENDS’ vision and mission in advancing enlightened thought, fostering the values of tolerance, peace, and coexistence, rejecting violence and extremism, and countering hate speech. It also reflects the center’s vital role in strengthening the mission of think tanks as active tools in advancing growth, progress, development and prosperity.

Promoting a Culture of Dialogue
Dr. Al-Ali further noted that today’s global landscape is witnessing profound challenges and issues, requiring researchers and intellectuals to promote a culture of dialogue based on knowledge, and to spread the values of moderation, tolerance and coexistence. This, he explained, must be achieved through producing rigorous studies, building strategic partnerships, and fostering trust through the exchange of expertise and scholarly perspectives.
He affirmed that this recognition, awarded within the framework of the Meeting of Muslim Religious Leaders of BRICS Countries, will serve as a strong incentive for TRENDS and its team to continue advancing knowledge, science and thought, while promoting peaceful coexistence and constructive dialogue. This is rooted in TRENDS’ firm conviction that knowledge is the most powerful weapon against extremist ideologies, and that dialogue is the path to achieving peace and prosperity for all humanity.
