H.E. Dr. Maitha Al-Shamsi, Minister of State and Advisor to H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, received a delegation from TRENDS Research & Advisory, led by its CEO, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali. The meeting took place within the framework of the Year of the Family and emphasized the importance of strengthening national partnerships that support research and empower youth and women across various fields.

During the meeting, an expanded dialogue session reviewed opportunities for cooperation between TRENDS and the Family Development Foundation, to further the Year of the Family. Focusing on ways to support women researchers, strengthen the capacities of youth and women in scientific research and policymaking, and enable their effective participation in national development initiatives.

H.E. Dr. Al-Shamsi emphasized the vital role of think tanks and research centers in supporting national strategies to advance women’s status. She praised TRENDS for its distinguished research efforts, key initiatives supporting national talent, and opportunities for youth and women to participate in academic and strategic projects.
She expressed her willingness to expand cooperation with TRENDS, particularly in initiatives related to the Year of Family and Emirati Women’s Day, as well as research programs and strategic studies that enhance the status of Emirati women and equip young people with the research and knowledge skills necessary for leadership and for contributing to sustainable development at both regional and international levels.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali stressed TRENDS’ commitment to advancing the Year of the Family by leveraging its research expertise and knowledge platforms to support national institutions in empowering youth and women. He affirmed that the development of Emirati women researchers is a strategic priority and is pursued through specialized training and capacity-building programs, as well as through participation in advanced research projects. These efforts reflect the leadership’s vision of investing in national talent and strengthening the roles of women and youth across vital sectors.

Dr. Al-Ali also commended the efforts of the General Women’s Union and the Family Development Foundation in strengthening women’s roles, describing them as central pillars in achieving sustainable development goals across all aspects of life.
