H.E. Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Advisor at the Presidential Court and Chairman of Wajib Volunteer Association, emphasized the importance of scientific research in youth empowerment, countering extremist ideologies, promoting the values of goodwill and peace, and enhancing societal awareness.

These statements were made during a discussion session hosted by TRENDS Research & Advisory, where the focus was on the role of scientific research in building more informed and stable societies.

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Mohammed Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, welcomed H.E. Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed, expressing appreciation for his presence and valuable insights, while reaffirming the role of scientific research as a pillar of sustainable development.

During the discussion, H.E. Sheikh Khalifa highlighted that scientific research is not just a tool to understand current realities but an effective means to address intellectual challenges, strengthen awareness, and reinforce values of moderation and tolerance in society. He stressed the need to support research institutions and empower young researchers to contribute to national progress.

He further emphasized that spreading knowledge-based positive thinking is the best approach to combat destructive ideologies, calling for stronger collaboration between academic and community institutions to advance awareness and promote goodwill and peace.

The session concluded with participants reaffirming the importance of intensifying efforts to support scientific research and community awareness, which are essential to achieving stability and sustainable development.

Following the session, H.E. Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan took a tour of TRENDS’ headquarters, where he and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the center’s various sectors and departments.
