-Media and Research Dialogues with Leading British Institutions and Newspapers, a Symposium at the British Parliament, and Active Participation in the London Book Fair
As part of its active international presence, TRENDS Research & Advisory is embarking on a new research and knowledge tour in London from March 10 to 13, 2025. The tour will feature media and research dialogues, knowledge-based symposiums, and participation in the London International Book Fair.
Media Dialogue
The TRENDS delegation will kick off its tour with a dialogue session with The Economist, gaining insights into the journalistic mechanisms of one of the world’s most prestigious economic publications and exploring avenues for media and research collaboration. The delegation will also visit The Times, where discussions will focus on the role of British media in shaping global public opinion and potential research partnerships.
Research Discussion
TRENDS’ new research tour will include dialogues with leading British think tanks, including Chatham House, where the TRENDS delegation will hold a meeting with the Middle East department to discuss research issues related to a number of important issues and academic approaches to addressing them. A similar dialogue will be held with the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) to discuss collaboration opportunities in countering extremism.

At the British Parliament
As part of TRENDS’ research tour in London, the center will hold, under the honorary sponsorship of Lord Walney, a panel discussion at the House of Lords titled “Strengthening the Middle East-Britain Partnership in Combating Extremism”. The event will also feature the honoring by Lord Walney of TRENDS for its role in countering extremism, in the presence of a number of British MPs.
Launch of the Gulf-British Forum
A high-level panel discussion will be held at the British Parliament in the presence of a number of British Members of Parliament during which TRENDS Research & Advisory will announce the launch of the Gulf-British Forum in partnership with the Global Arab Network with the aim of enhancing dialogue and mutual cooperation.

London International Book Fair
As part of its research tour, TRENDS will participate, for the fourth consecutive year, in the London International Book Fair (2025), showcasing its latest research publications on terrorism, extremism, international security, and global politics. The center will also host panel discussions on countering extremist ideologies, featuring renowned international scholars.
The TRENDS pavilion at the exhibition will feature a ceremony for the signing by TRENDS of an agreement to acquire the translation rights of Sir Liam Fox’s latest book, titled “The Coming Storm: Why Water Will Write the 21st Century”. The book explores global challenges related to water scarcity and its profound impact on security and international stability.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, emphasized that the center’s new tour, coming just days after a similar research tour in Moscow, aligns with TRENDS’ strategy to enhance its global presence through building research, academic and media partnerships and participation in research events to contribute to international discussions, stability, combating extremism, and other current issues, such as AI, innovation, and future making.

Mr. Awadh Al-Breiki, Head of TRENDS Global Sector, emphasized that this tour, with its engaging discussions and intellectual sessions, aligns with TRENDS’ mission to serve as a knowledge bridge, indicating the work of TRENDS’ research offices across continents.

Rawda Al-Marzouqi, Director of Distribution and Exhibitions Department at TRENDS, highlighted that the London Book Fair presents an exceptional opportunity to showcase TRENDS’ research publications to a global audience while strengthening its presence in major cultural and intellectual events.

Elyazia Al-Hosani, Deputy Head of Administrative Affairs and Media Sector at TRENDS, stated that the TRENDS media team, in cooperation with its partners, will provide comprehensive coverage of the research tour across TRENDS’ digital platforms, ensuring a spotlight on the significance of intellectual dialogue and research collaboration in countering extremist ideologies.
