TRENDS Research & Advisory participated in the launch of the Women in Research Office at the University of Sharjah, following the notable success and wide impact of the Women in Research Forum across five consecutive editions at both regional and global levels. The establishment of the office represents a new strategic step by the University of Sharjah to advance its efforts to empower women researchers, enhance knowledge and research impact, and build sustainable research ecosystems.
Abrar Al-Ali, Researcher and Director of the Global Barometer Department, delivered TRENDS’ remarks at the ceremony on behalf of Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory. She stated that this important event marks a pioneering strategic step with the launch of the Women in Research Office at the University of Sharjah, building on the successes of previous editions of the Women in Research Forum.

She noted that empowering women in research is no longer an option, but a developmental and intellectual necessity. Building women’s research capacities, she explained, contributes to shaping thought, behavior, and the growth and advancement of future generations. Women researchers are essential partners in knowledge production, in designing solutions and strategies, and in shaping the future; the broader the opportunities available to them, the greater the impact on research quality, the depth of its outputs, and the sustainability of its contributions.

Dr. Al-Ali emphasized that TRENDS Research & Advisory believes investing in women researchers is an investment in the intellectual capital of societies. Through its strategic partnerships worldwide, the center supports innovative programs and initiatives that enhance women’s participation in scientific research, provide platforms for academic publishing, and open avenues for international collaboration and networking.
She added that TRENDS views the launch of the Women in Research Office as an important opportunity to develop joint programs and key research initiatives with the University of Sharjah. These efforts will strengthen women’s scientific and professional empowerment and enhance the competitiveness of research at both regional and international levels. She congratulated the University of Sharjah on this pioneering step and reaffirmed TRENDS’ commitment to continued constructive cooperation in the service of knowledge and human development.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Noura Al-Karbi, Director of the Women in Research Office at the University of Sharjah, honored TRENDS Research & Advisory in recognition of its efforts to support purposeful and rigorous scientific research and its active role in empowering women researchers and strengthening their capabilities and creative tools.
