In a step that strengthens international academic and research cooperation and reinforces the strategic partnership between TRENDS Research & Advisory and the Italian University of Insubria, the TRENDS International Training Institute, in collaboration with the university, organized an intensive training program for a select group of outstanding master’s students.
The program, held at TRENDS’ headquarters in Abu Dhabi over two weeks, aimed to familiarize students with the center’s diverse research activities and immerse them in a dynamic and stimulating research environment. Master’s students majoring in Modern Languages for Communication and International Cooperation, as well as those in International and Comparative Law, benefited from the program.

Sultan Al-Rubaei, Senior Researcher and Head of the TRENDS International Training Institute, stated that this training program is part of the strategic partnership between the two sides and reflects TRENDS’ commitment to promoting knowledge and building bridges of international cooperation in research and scientific fields.
He added that the program included a range of interactive and practical activities. Trainees participated in brainstorming sessions on how to formulate research titles and design opinion surveys. They were also introduced to TRENDS’ Research Writing Guide and began drafting their own scientific research papers under the supervision of specialized researchers.

Al-Rubaei explained that one of the program’s most prominent events was the trainees’ participation in the 5th Annual TRENDS Conference on Sustainable Water Security. This allowed them to take notes and contribute to drafting the conference’s “white paper,” thereby honing their analytical and documentation skills.
Al-Rubaei further noted that, as part of the program, students will continue working on their research remotely, which underscores the program’s flexibility and its ability to sustain research work effectively.
