TRENDS Research & Advisory participated in the 3rd International Conference on Advancing Sustainable Futures (ICASF) 2025, organized by Abu Dhabi University with IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence, under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, delivered a keynote address on the conference’s second day. He stated that sustainability is now an existential necessity for national security and future generations. He called for immediate action to move from identifying challenges to engineering solutions for a just and sustainable future.

Dr. Al-Ali said the first day focused on challenges, while the second day demands action to address historic turning points and rising challenges in climate, economy, technology, and social values.

He said we must redefine our relationship with nature, reshape technology’s role, and reconsider development goals based on justice, equity, and sustainability.

Dr. Al-Ali said the conference offers a global platform to shape the future, unite experts and decision-makers, connect thought with practice, and form partnerships across borders.

He insisted the future depends on science, decisive choices, and responsible implementation. He linked discussions on AI, green transitions, and future jobs directly to the quality of life we leave future generations.

Dr. Al-Ali said the conference’s strength is its integration of scientific knowledge, practical experience, youth ambition, and institutional leadership. He said this integration drives ideas from research to real-world projects that benefit the economy, environment, and quality of life.

Dr. Al-Ali ended by stating that think tanks and knowledge institutions like TRENDS drive innovation and change. He affirmed that TRENDS uses its motto, Foreseeing the Future Through Knowledge, to guide all research and scientific efforts.
