-High-Level Ministerial Session and Dialogues on Artificial Intelligence and the Complementary Roles of Think Tanks and Media Institutions
TRENDS Research & Advisory has concluded its active participation as an organizing partner in the 20th Arab Media Forum, recently hosted by the State of Kuwait. This participation was marked by a prominent presence and wide engagement with leading media, intellectual, cultural, and artistic figures from across the Arab world.
A highlight of TRENDS’ participation was its organization of a high-level ministerial session on a pressing topic at the intersection of media and technology. Titled “Transformations of the Media Landscape in the Digital Age”, the session featured H.E. Dr. Ramzan Al-Noaimi, Bahrain’s Minister of Information; H.E. Paul Morcos, Lebanon’s Minister of Information; Mr. Ahmed Al-Muslimani, Chairman of the National Media Authority in Egypt; and Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory. It was moderated by media professional Dr. Nader Karam.

TRENDS also hosted a second panel discussion that brought together Sheikh Mohammed Al-Sabah, President of the Kuwait AI Society; H.E. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cyber Security Council; Counselor Madi Abdullah Al-Khamis, Secretary-General of the Arab Media Forum; and Mr. Moanes Al-Mardi, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Bilad newspaper (Bahrain). The panel explored the impact of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies on the present and future media landscape, highlighting key opportunities and challenges posed by these accelerating transformations.

As part of its efforts to strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange, the TRENDS Research & Advisory delegation met with Counselor Madi Abdullah Al-Khamis, Secretary-General of the Arab Media Forum, to review the center’s valuable contributions to previous editions of the forum. During the meeting, the delegation also presented him with TRENDS’ latest publications, which reflect the depth of the center’s studies and analyses across various fields.
To highlight the vital role of art in public awareness in the digital transformation era, TRENDS conducted a series of intellectual and media dialogues with prominent Gulf and Arab actors, including Khaled Al-Muzaffar (Kuwait), Zuhair Al-Noubani (Jordan), and Sameh Hussein (Egypt). These conversations explored the pivotal role art can play in raising awareness of contemporary issues and promoting positive values amid rapid technological advancements.

On the sidelines of the forum’s second day, the TRENDS delegation attended the signing of the book “National Identity in the United Arab Emirates: Between the Particularity of Constants and Values and the Universality of Standards” by H.E. Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Coalition of Arab Think Tanks and Culture Centers. TRENDS’ participation underscored its commitment to supporting intellectual and cultural production and fostering constructive dialogue on national and regional issues.
