TRENDS Continues its Mission of Promoting Culture and Knowledge at the Sharjah International Book Fair 2024

TRENDS Research & Advisory continues its mission of promoting culture and knowledge through its fifth participation in the Sharjah International Book Fair. The Center’s pavilion, L-24 in Hall 6, showcases over 350 publications and features a dedicated section on artificial intelligence tools and a state-of-the-art podcast studio.

               

TRENDS’ pavilion welcomed senior officials, ambassadors, diplomats, dignitaries, and a notable array of intellectuals, writers, academics, and researchers. Most notable was the visit by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, who was briefed on TRENDS’ latest publications and praised the Center’s contributions in support of culture and knowledge.

               

A Knowledge-Driven Vision

During his visit to the TRENDS’ pavilion, H.E. Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office, praised the Center’s global research vision and was presented with a copy of book, The Era of Pearls: From Poverty to Prosperity. Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Hamdan Al Nuaimi, Director of the Economic Licensing Department at the Ajman Department of Economic Development, browsed the publications showcased at TRENDS pavilion and commended the Center’s research efforts.

               

Distinguished Visits

The pavilion hosted visits from distinguished figures, including H.E. Ahmed Al-Tazi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the UAE; H.E. Antoine Delcourt, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the UAE; H.E. Maqsoud Kruse, Chairman of the National Human Rights Institution; H.E. Ahmed bin Rakkad Al-Ameri, CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority; H.E. Dr. Latifa Muftaqir, Director of the Moroccan Archives and Head of the Cultural Program of Morocco, the Guest of Honor at the 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair; H.E. Abdullah Majid Al-Ali, Director General of the National Library and Archives; and H.E. Dr. Majid Abdullah Bushalibi, Secretary General of Sharjah Islamic Forum.

               

The pavilion also received several prominent figures and officials, including H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz Almusallam, Chairman of Sharjah Institute for Heritage; Dr. Sultan Al-Ameemi, Chairman of the Emirates Writers Union; Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Maleeh, Director of the Sharjah Police Research Center, Sharjah Police Headquarters; Abdellah Sadik, Director of the Rabat International Book Fair; and a delegation from the Emirates Association for Lawyers and Legal Experts. The guests praised the rich and diverse content of TRENDS’ publications and appreciated its active presence at international book fairs and cultural events.

               

Serving Knowledge

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, stated that TRENDS’ was partcipating in the Sharjah International Book Fair for the fifth year with the aim of connecting with cultural institutions, international and regional publishers, and global thought platforms to enhance cooperation and partnerships that support culture and knowledge.

               

He emphasized that this participation reflects TRENDS’ commitment to these cultural events, which play a crucial role in bringing nations closer. He noted that the Sharjah International Book Fair has become a landmark in publishing, a vital platform for intellectual and cultural dialogue, and a venue where thinkers, writers, and scholars from around the world engage with academics and experts on scientific and cultural issues.

               

TRENDS Research Medal

In recognition of their support for culture, knowledge, and research, TRENDS presented the TRENDS Research Medal to several distinguished officials, ambassadors, and dignitaries. Among the recipients were H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council; Dr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Morocco’s Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication; and H.E. Ahmed Al-Tazi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the UAE.

               

The medal was also awarded to H.E. Antoine Delcourt, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the UAE; H.E. Dr. Mohammed Al-Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cyber Security Council; H.E. Maqsoud Kruse, Chairman of the National Human Rights Institution; H.E. Ahmed bin Rakkad Al-Ameri, CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority; Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Maleeh, Director of the Sharjah Police Research Center, Sharjah Police Headquarters; and Eng. Khaled Al-Attar, Director-General of the DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Organization.
