TRENDS Research & Advisory, represented by Dr. Mohamed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, was a guest of honor at an event organized by the Guangzhou Institute for the Greater Bay Area. The event marked the launch of the book Geographically Embedded World Economic Hubs: Enduring Growth Across Four Major Bay Areas. The book presents a comprehensive comparative study of four leading global economic regions: New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, and the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. The event was held as part of the Frankfurt International Book Fair.

TRENDS also strengthened its role in disseminating science, knowledge, and academic research culture by participating in the fair for the fifth consecutive year. The participation involved discussions and intellectual meetings with researchers, experts, and specialists to expand mutual understanding, support constructive dialogue, and find sustainable solutions to contemporary global issues—particularly those related to peace, climate change, technology, and cybersecurity.

Sustainable Economic Centers

Dr. Mohamed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, stated at the Guangzhou Institute for the Greater Bay Area event that the book Geographically Embedded World Economic Hubs provides a unique framework for understanding the interaction between geography, innovation, and human capital in shaping sustainable economic centers. He praised its rich content, which is a valuable scientific reference for researchers and academics.

Dr. Al Ali emphasized the importance of this type of study from the UAE’s perspective, noting that the UAE’s development model is based on knowledge, innovation, and international cooperation. He explained that Abu Dhabi and Dubai have become leading hubs connecting East and West and embody the principles of sustainable growth.

The CEO of TRENDS noted that the book’s themes and content intersect with the research interests of the TRENDS Center, particularly in the areas of global development models, economic transformations, and the role of knowledge in anticipating future trends and achieving sustainable development goals.

Dr. Al Ali concluded his speech by calling for enhanced cooperation between TRENDS and the Guangzhou Institute through joint research projects, comparative studies, and academic exchange programs. He emphasized that cooperation between East and West is the foundation for building a more balanced and prosperous future.

Moreover, the TRENDS pavilion at the Frankfurt International Book Fair received many visitors eager to purchase a collection of publications, research papers, and studies addressing contemporary issues and challenges. They praised the pivotal role played by TRENDS in promoting the culture of scientific research, building bridges of knowledge exchange among the world’s cultures and peoples, and supporting culture and knowledge at both regional and international levels.

The TRENDS research team reviewed research, knowledge, and intellectual collaborations with officials from the international, European, and German pavilions participating in the Frankfurt Book Fair. The team also visited the pavilions of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, the Emirates Publishers Association, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, exploring ways to enhance cooperation in joint scientific publishing and to support culture and the publishing industry.

Expanding Knowledge Horizons

Rawdha Al-Marzooqi, Researcher and Director of Distribution and Exhibitions at TRENDS, emphasized that the Center’s participation in the Frankfurt International Book Fair for the fifth consecutive year was not merely a traditional presence. Still, it is a strategic bridge extending toward new and promising horizons of knowledge expansion, cooperation, partnerships, and openness to international intellectual institutions and publishing houses.

She stated that TRENDS’ vision goes beyond showcasing books, research, and studies at book fairs and cultural forums to building sustainable intellectual alliances with leading academic institutions, international think tanks, and research centers.

Al-Marzooqi explained that TRENDS’ participation in the Frankfurt Book Fair reflects the Center’s commitment to maintaining an active presence in global cultural and intellectual forums and to stimulating innovation in scientific research through qualitative dialogues that bring together experts to transform ideas into practical solutions, analyze current events, and anticipate future developments.
