TRENDS Research and Advisory continued its global research tour, aiming to enhance research collaborations and reinforce its international leadership in the field. The TRENDS delegation arrived in Istanbul, marking the Turkish leg of their tour, just two days after concluding their visit to China. In Istanbul, they engaged with prominent researchers and leading think tanks and media institutions in the city.
During their visit, TRENDS researchers held dialogue sessions with experts from leading think tanks, including the TRT World Research Centre. Discussions centered on the importance of scientific research in forecasting and interpreting events, as well as the latest developments in various fields such as international relations, economics, and politics. Researchers from both sides shared insights about their work on regional and global issues, focusing on future collaboration opportunities.
TRENDS researchers also exchanged ideas with their counterparts at the Centre for Economics and Foreign Policy Studies (EDAM). They discussed the challenges and opportunities facing the region and the world, economic and political developments, and the role of scientific research in developing comprehensive understandings of these issues. Both sides explored prospects for cooperation in research, studies, training, and consultancy.
As part of their research tour in Türkiye, TRENDS researchers held a discussion session with experts from Tübamer Social Research and Consultancy (Harici). The session focused on opportunities for collaboration in research and consultancy, sharing expertise, and working on joint research projects while also exploring the latest trends in scientific research.
Recognizing the importance of integrating media with scientific research to produce balanced and meaningful content, TRENDS researchers met with Dr. Esra Karahindiba, a senior Turkish journalist and international affairs commentator specializing in foreign policy and international relations. They discussed the latest regional and global developments and gained insights from her media experiences. Dr. Karahindiba emphasized the importance of think tanks in providing the media with reliable content based on thorough investigation, studies, and opinion polls, noting that scientific research is essential for gaining knowledge.
The TRENDS delegation, led by Nasser Mohammed Al-Ali, Head of the Human Resources Sector, includes Elyazia Al-Hosani, Director of the Media Communication Office, researchers Shamma Al-Qutba and Najla Al-Midfa, and Dr. Serhat Çubukçuoğlu, Senior Research Fellow in Strategic Studies.
Nasser Mohammed Al-Ali, expressed his satisfaction with the outcomes of these research dialogues in Istanbul. He highlighted that these discussions provided TRENDS researchers with the opportunity to connect with some of the best researchers and think tanks in Türkiye and explore collaboration opportunities in various research fields.
Al-Ali affirmed TRENDS’ commitment to strengthening its relations with counterparts in Türkiye and globally. He stated that these meetings would significantly contribute to achieving these goals.
Directors and officials from the TRT World Research Centre, EDAM, and Harici welcomed the cooperation with TRENDS Research and Advisory. They noted that such collaboration would be highly beneficial for all parties, and would contribute to enhancing scientific research, exchanging expertise, and finding solutions to the challenges facing the region and the world.
