TRENDS Research & Advisory hosted H.E. Dr. Mudhafar Mustafa Al Jubouri, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Arab Emirates, in a dialogue session that discussed the importance of scientific research in understanding global transformations and anticipating their future trajectories.

The session featured an exchange on prospects for cooperation between TRENDS and relevant Iraqi research institutions, as well as a sharing of perspectives on several issues of mutual interest. It also provided researchers with the opportunity to engage directly with the Ambassador on key developments and the role of studies and academic research in shaping visions, offering proposals, and finding solutions to current challenges. The session emphasized that strengthening research cooperation between educational and intellectual institutions, both regionally and internationally, has become essential to achieving a deeper understanding of emerging developments and available opportunities.

The Iraqi Ambassador praised the pioneering role played by TRENDS in empowering youth through its research and knowledge initiatives and commended its contributions to promoting a culture of moderation, tolerance, and dialogue among peoples and cultures. During the session, Ambassador Dr. Mudhafar Al Jubouri extended an official invitation to TRENDS to visit Iraq, aiming to strengthen engagement with Iraqi research centers and build new bridges of cooperation.

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, delivered a brief presentation on its activities, including its actual and virtual global offices, as well as its main research outputs, sectors, and diverse areas of work. He noted that the center is entering its eleventh year since its establishment, and its sixth year in the process of development and modernization, which has reinforced its global presence.

Dr. Al-Ali reaffirmed TRENDS’ commitment to continuing to build research and scientific partnerships with various Iraqi, Arab, and international institutions, in a way that enhances its role in supporting decision-makers and producing solid knowledge that contributes to strengthening stability and development.
