TRENDS, Korea University commend prospects of research collaboration

A TRENDS Research & Advisory delegation and scholars from Korea University explored ways to strengthen research and academic collaboration between the two institutions. The discussions took place during a panel discussion held in Seoul, led by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, and Dr. Kim Dong-one, President of Korea University, with the attendance of several academics and experts.

       

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Mohammed Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, presented Dr. Kim Dong-one, President of Korea University, with the TRENDS Research Medal in recognition of his support in opening TRENDS’ eighth global office on the University’s campus and the University’s contribution and knowledge partnership with TRENDS during the international conference on artificial intelligence organized by the UAE Embassy in Seoul.

       

Dr. Kim was also gifted the book Cybersecurity in the Age of AI, which TRENDS’ Seoul Office launched at the start of its activities. During the session, both sides discussed prospects for cooperation, emphasizing the need to activate channels of scientific and intellectual dialogue between research and academic institutions to serve common goals and contribute to advancing knowledge and future foresight. They also stressed the importance of focusing on specialized research in modern technological fields, particularly artificial intelligence and its multiple applications.

       

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali expressed his delight in TRENDS collaborating with Korea University, one of Asia’s most prestigious institutions, and in opening TRENDS’ eighth global office on its campus. He highlighted this as a new step forward in boosting cooperation between the two entities and facilitating the exchange of expertise and personnel. He emphasized that this collaboration aligns with TRENDS’ strategy of forming strategic partnerships with leading global academic institutions.

Dr. Al-Ali also pointed out that this partnership would enhance scientific and knowledge production in various fields, especially in the rapidly evolving area of artificial intelligence.

       

Dr. Kim Dong-one, President of Korea University, welcomed the partnership with TRENDS and the opening of its office on campus. He noted that TRENDS is one of the region’s most prominent research centers, enjoying a strong academic and research reputation. He stated that the new office would strengthen and support scientific research, boost academic exchange, and increase student and researcher engagement with the expertise offered by TRENDS, contributing to a more dynamic research environment.

Both parties agreed to enhance cooperation between TRENDS and Korea University in various joint activities, including organizing workshops and conferences, exchanging researchers and students, and conducting joint research in artificial intelligence and other areas of mutual interest.
