TRENDS Research & Advisory has launched its virtual office in the Indian capital, New Delhi, as part of its vision and strategy to enhance its global intellectual and research presence and build sustainable research partnerships with leading academic institutions, research organizations, and think tanks in South Asia.

The new office seeks to expand purposeful strategic partnerships and enhance the exchange of expertise and knowledge with experts and specialists from South Asian countries on contemporary global issues. It also aims to broaden TRENDS’ intellectual and knowledge influence and enrich global dialogues on emerging geopolitical and economic developments from a rigorous scientific perspective.

Enhancing Dialogue

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, stated that launching the virtual office in India marks an important milestone in its efforts to promote constructive dialogue and expand strategic partnerships. He added that the new office will serve as a bridge for cooperation with Indian think tanks in academic research and policy analysis, thereby enhancing stability and supporting sustainable development efforts in the region and the world.

He noted that the office will work to produce future-oriented research and studies in technological and strategic fields, such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, space, clean energy, and advanced technology, in partnership with active Indian think tanks. This builds on exchanges among experts on contemporary issues, including maritime security in the Indian Ocean, energy security, digital transformation, and regional stability.

Strategic Objectives

Dr. Al-Ali pointed out that the Indian virtual office will also focus on achieving several strategic objectives, including strengthening research partnerships with Indian groups, think tanks, and knowledge institutions, and building sustainable cooperation frameworks to implement joint scientific and research projects. Moreover, it will play an essential role in expanding TRENDS’s geographic reach and intellectual influence, establishing it as a trusted source of analysis grounded in a deep understanding of the Indian and regional context.

Developing Research Projects

Simran Sodhi, Director of TRENDS’ virtual office in India, affirmed that the office will work diligently to enhance close cooperation with India’s rich intellectual and research community by developing joint research projects, hosting a series of seminars and interactive workshops, and producing in-depth strategic analyses to understand regional dynamics. This will help provide valuable insights for researchers and academics on South Asia.

Sodhi explained that the launch of the virtual office is a practical step toward serving TRENDS’s academic, research, and knowledge mission. The office will benefit from Indian expertise in technology, economics, political science, and international relations. She added that the office will also strive to strengthen TRENDS’ position as a leading global platform specializing in strategic research and foresight studies.
