Amid escalating regional tensions and rapid shifts in the structure of the international system, TRENDS Research & Advisory will organize its fourth strategic dialogue on Thursday, April 2, 2026, titled: “The War in the Middle East: How Does Latin America View the Crisis?”, with the participation of a distinguished group of academics, experts, and decision-makers from across Latin America.

This dialogue comes as part of TRENDS’ ongoing efforts to foster cross-regional intellectual engagement and to explore how different global actors perceive developments in the Middle East, particularly in light of the growing interconnectedness between regional crises and global repercussions.

The session, which will be held virtually from 5:00 to 6:00 PM UAE time (10:00 AM in parts of Latin America), aims to examine how Latin American countries interpret the evolving dynamics of the war in the Middle East, and to analyze its implications for the global economy, supply chains, energy security, and international strategic stability.

The dialogue will be opened by Ms. Al Yazia Al Hosani, Researcher and Deputy Head of the Administrative and Media Affairs Sector at TRENDS. The main session will be moderated by Dr. Paolo Botta, Director of TRENDS Virtual Offices in Latin America, under the title: “Conflict Implications: Supply Chain Disruptions, Energy Pressures, and Strategic Stability.”

The session will feature prominent experts from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Panama, who will present diverse Latin American perspectives on the crisis and offer insights into the future of global geopolitical balances amid ongoing conflict.

The dialogue will conclude with closing remarks by researcher Sultan Al Hosani, highlighting the key findings and recommendations emerging from the discussion.

In this context, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, emphasized that organizing this fourth dialogue is part of the center’s strategic dialogue series aimed at strengthening intellectual exchange with different regions of the world, especially at a time marked by complex and overlapping global challenges.

He noted that understanding Latin America’s perspectives on developments in the Middle East is becoming increasingly important amid ongoing transformations in the international system, stressing that global interactions are no longer geographically confined but are deeply interconnected—requiring multidimensional approaches to analyzing contemporary crises and their future implications.
