Trends Research and Advisory concluded its third participation in the 55th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair, held from January 24 to February 6, at the Egypt International Exhibition and Convention Center in Cairo.
Over the course of 14 days, Trends pavilion received intensive visits by ministers, ambassadors, diplomats, parliamentarians, intellectuals, researchers and high-level officials. The Center’s pavilion received academic and educational delegations, and large numbers of the exhibition’s audience of various age groups.
The pavilion was visited by several high profile figures, most notably: His Excellency Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, Dr. Nevine Kilani, Egyptian Minister of Culture, Her Excellency Maryam Khalifa Al Kaabi, Ambassador of the UAE to Egypt, Her Excellency Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Egypt, His Excellency Dr. Osama El Gohary, Assistant to the Egyptian Prime Minister and Head of the Information and Decision Support Center, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

The pavilion was also visited by Sheikh Dr. Ammar bin Nasser Al Mualla, UAE Education and Technology Science Attaché to Egypt, His Excellency Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments and Director General of the Emirates Council for Sharia Ifta, His Excellency Abdullah Majed Al Ali, Director General of the National Library and Archives, Dr. Ahmed Bahey El-Din, Chairman of the Egyptian General Book Organization and Chairman of the Cairo International Book Fair, and Brigadier General Dr. Khaled Okasha, Director General of the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies and Thought.
The pavilion attracted a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Media Network that included executive heads from the network, a delegation from the Library of Congress in Cairo, as well as a delegation of students of Egyptian military colleges and academies, delegations from several Egyptian universities and institutes. The visitors praised the message and efforts of TRENDS and appreciated the content of knowledge series, research and specialized studies that received a wide turnout from the exhibition audience.
Research and qualitative studies
Dr. Mohamed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of Trends Research and Advisory, said that the center’s third participation in the Cairo International Book Fair achieved great success at all levels. The pavilion attracted ministers, ambassadors, experts and researchers from various countries. Dr. Al-Ali added that the visitors expressed their admiration for the scientific product of Trends, qualitative research and valuable studies that address contemporary issues. Trends has not only stopped at exploring these issues, but rather proposed solutions and strategies to confront them and turn them into opportunities for success.
Confronting Intellectual Extremism
Dr. Al-Ali stressed that Trends’ participation in regional and international book fairs aims primarily to build a bridge for scientific and knowledge communication between think tanks, institutions and cultural actors, and transfer knowledge. Another objective is to introduce the scientific output of the center to achieve its goal, which is to correct misconceptions and confront extremist ideas and groups with credible thought. Dr. Al-Ali indicated that Trends seeks to achieve this through active participation in book fairs, especially the Cairo International Book Fair, which is one of the largest cultural forums in the Middle East and Africa.
Exceptional participation
Rawda Al Marzouqi, Director of Distribution and Exhibitions Department at TRENDS, explained that the Center’s participation in the 55th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair was exceptional and effective. She said that Trends pavilion witnessed a great turnout throughout this edition of Cairo Book fair. She added that the diversity of the Center’s publications, and credible research content attracted the attention of various visitors who were keen to acquire them and benefit from their accurate and meaningful content.
Al-Marzouqi stated that Trends was keen to end its participation in the exhibition by distributing its publications as gift collections to a number of regional and international university libraries, academies, bodies and institutions interested in scientific research. The move shall provide young generations with accurate information from verified and reliable scientific sources, at a time when electronic spaces are filled with destructive ideas, misinformation and false news.
