TRENDS Research & Advisory, represented by its CEO, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, participated in the fourth edition of the Arab Meeting for Young Leaders, organized by the Arab Youth Center in collaboration with the World Government Summit in Dubai. Held under the theme “Made in the Arab World: Arab Identity, Global Impact,” the event brought together Arab youth ministers and young leaders from all Arab countries.

This participation is part of TRENDS’ engagement as a contributing member in the pre-summit activities of the World Government Summit 2025, which is being held in Dubai until February 13, under the theme “Shaping Future Governments”.

TRENDS: pioneering model in youth empowerment

During his remarks at the meeting, Dr. Mohammed Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, emphasized that Arab youth represent a tremendous human capital, with an estimated 129 million young people across the region. He highlighted the importance of investing in them through education, training, and scientific research, while also addressing key challenges such as the Arab world’s 25.7% youth unemployment rate and the need to develop skills that keep pace with global transformations.

Dr. Al-Ali pointed to the UAE’s leading role in youth empowerment, noting that the country has become a global destination for young talent. He also highlighted TRENDS’ pioneering experience in supporting young researchers through various initiatives. These include the establishment of the TRENDS Youth Council, the first-of-its-kind platform to support young researchers, as well as the launch of specialized training programs in research and media that have benefited over 250 young researchers. TRENDS has also organized international conferences and symposia to enhance youth engagement in intellectual and research fields and has published over 263 studies by young researchers as part of its publications.

Dr. Al-Ali further noted that 60% of TRENDS’ research workforce consists of young professionals, many of whom hold leadership positions and lead various research programs. Over the years, more than 250 young researchers have benefited from TRENDS’ training programs in fields such as politics, economics, security, and strategic studies. Additionally, TRENDS has conducted over 50 specialized workshops in scientific research and strategic analysis, and young researchers have participated in more than 120 conferences and symposia at regional and international levels. More than 50 young men and women have joined TRENDS’ programs in recent years, while the center has launched over 10 youth-led research initiatives across various disciplines. With over 200 applications from young researchers worldwide annually, TRENDS has successfully trained and developed over 20 young professionals, equipping them to become media analysts and research experts, actively contributing to academic and media platforms.

Dr. Al-Ali reaffirmed TRENDS’ unwavering commitment to supporting the youth, stating: “TRENDS does not just believe in the potential of young people; it actively works to empower them. Today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders, and investing in them is the key to a brighter future.”

He concluded by emphasizing that TRENDS Research & Advisory will continue its efforts to foster intellectual youth engagement and provide opportunities for active participation in shaping the future of the Arab world. He also called for further partnerships and innovative initiatives to enhance youth empowerment and their role in sustainable development.

Strengthening youth collaboration

On the sidelines of the meeting, the TRENDS delegation held several discussions with Arab ministers and officials, exploring avenues for collaboration in youth empowerment and enhancing their engagement in research and intellectual fields. The TRENDS delegation emphasized the importance of unifying Arab efforts to build a new generation capable of making a positive impact on the global stage.
