Under the gracious patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Office, the 1st edition of the Global Emerging Technology Governance Summit (GETS) will be held on 5–6 May at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi, under the theme “Shaping Responsible Governance of AI and Emerging Technologies in a Future Digital Economy.”
TRENDS Research & Advisory will join the summit as Official Knowledge Partner, in recognition of its leading role in advancing scientific research and shaping future foresight in technology governance. The partnership also underscores TRENDS’ commitment to promoting academic exchange and international knowledge cooperation.
Organized by the Advanced Technology Research Council, in strategic partnership with the UAE Federal Public Prosecution, the summit will bring together over 500 participants, including high-level policymakers, technology leaders, and legal experts. Attendees will address the challenges and opportunities posed by AI, quantum computing, and Web 3.0, among other emerging technologies.

This year’s summit will focus on developing and effective and comprehensive technology‑governance frameworks and exploring the impact of emerging technologies on key sectors such as healthcare, financial services, the creative industries, and digital criminal justice.
It will also serve as a platform for international dialogue on cybersecurity, data privacy, and responsible innovation, featuring more than 50 regional and global experts as speakers.
GETS aims to cement the UAE’s standing as a global hub for shaping the future of technology governance by encouraging strategic partnerships and developing legal and regulatory frameworks that ensure the safe and responsible deployment of modern technologies.
